Our story

Our story...

… begins in the small village of Zagrad, located about 30 kilometers from the city of Zadar, in the heart of the vast northern Dalmatian plain known as Ravni Kotari.

A few hectares of fertile but perpetually thirsty land nourished generations of the Atelj family, only to be somewhat forgotten.

Forgotten until 2006, when we decided to repay our land, planted our first olive trees, and began to bring a smile back to our old lady’s face.

Out of deep respect for its age and everything it has given us, we chose to practice organic olive farming and produce organic extra virgin olive oil.

Hand pruning, manual harvesting, thoughtful fertilization and protection—without mineral fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, or irrigation—guided solely by the quality of the oil, are the hallmarks of our approach. This has earned us the European Union’s organic product certification.

We harvest our olives by hand using manual electric olive harvesters from mid-October to mid-November and process them the same day using a cold-pressing method to produce high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
